The Bordessa Family: AUSTRALIA.....

"G' Day mate!" We had an amazing trip to Australia to visit Sam and Lisa, who are traveling in Australia for 18 months!! Sam was born and raised in Australia and met Lisa, who went to Cal Poly with us, when she did a semester abroad in Australia. They were married in 2005 and have been living in Petaluma. They always promised each other that they would return to Australia for a grand tour before having children, and they're doing it!!! They have a VERY well equipped Land Cruiser that they live out of while touring the Outback and they make stops along the way to visit family and friends in town. We caught up with them on their journey in New South Wales. We stayed our first week at Lisa's family friend's lake house on Lake Conjola just 3 hours south of Sydney. We spent a week in the sun enjoying surfing, fishing, swimming and the local wildlife. Then we hit the road to experience what everyday life is like for Sam and Lisa. It was amazing!! We camped and enjoyed the outdoors thoroughly. We had a few days of rain but it didn't slow us down too much. Then, we concluded our two weeks with a stop in Sydney where we took in the sights of the big city. We cannot thank Lisa and Sam enough for our amazing adventure in Australia. They had everything planned out for us; all we had to do is literally show up, have I mentioned it was amazing yet!! J Really, it was an experience Jarrid and I will never forget!

I have to also thank Pommy and Papa, who watched our precious Gianna for two weeks while we took this amazing trip. It was so great to enjoy our time away knowing she was in such wonderful and capable hands. Thanks Mom and Dad for making this possible!
